1. House is an ass (an unpleasant person), but not an ass (an idiot).
2. Medicine is an art and a science in which patient-doctor relationships have been of utmost importance, and thus empathy is a necessity.
3. UMAT is supposedly a measure of ability, not empathy. There have been people known to get huge (scaled) scores in sections 1 and 3, and bombed out in section 2.
4. Don't get head surgery by a surgeon with a degenerative disease that affects motor neurons.
Newbie, without further haranguing, understand that surgery is not clinical/internal medicine, and vice versa; and the US is different to Australia. :/
