I want to get into the UNSW Bachelor of Medical Studies (BMed) and the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program. Now that abstract reasoning isn't a thing anymore (RIP), does anybody know what a good score would be to be competitive? Also, does situational judgment impact my chances, or does UNSW not take that into account? (From my research they don't count SJ, but I just wanted to check.)

Thanks guys!

this says realistically you need ATAR 99.50 + UCAT 92 percentile for have a chance for Med at UNSW?
yeah id say 99.5 and 93rd percentile ish. you have better chances if both atar and ucat are higher than this threshold tho tho bc UNSW is incredibly competitive and a lot of ppl apply with incredible stats, even from other states (e.g. 99.8s and like 97th percentile) and spots will run out if you're on the lower end of the specturm.

to convert your current ucat score (with ar removed) to the old one the most accurate way is to divide it by 3 then multiply it by 4.
before ar got removed, you would realistically want above a 3200 (average of 800 in each section) which is equivalent to 2400 with ar removed.
(of course it all comes down to percentiles and how strong the ucat cohort of that year is but if you want a concrete score i'd say 2400 is the best estimate)

also unsw doesn't consider sj but other unis might.

Sheesh, those are some high stats - thanks guys! Guess I need to go study, haha...I have no idea what ATAR or UCAT percentile I'm looking at, but those were similar to my aims, so at least it's not too much of a scare?

Thanks once again!!
