hey how does all that ranking stuff work??...say if ur like top 10 ranks in ur subject.. and you do shitty in ur hsc.....will u still get over 90ish......btw is it better to go into advance english?? den standard...wanna get more over 90suh

if you excel in english, then go into advanced english. if your just average, but a hard worker, go into advanced english.

if your mediocre at english, go into standard.

as for the ranks, im not too sure about. just do well throughout the hsc year and you'll be fine.

Probably not. You have to do well enough in both do get >90.

I heard they only count your best 10 units? I hope so because I'm planning to continue with my 12 units in year 12...

Yes they only take your best 10 units. But many students do more than 10 units as to provide a safety net in case they stuff up an exam. And also, the 10 units must incude at least 2 units of english.
