UAI estimation pretty please (1 Viewer)

Hey guys, first post.

Um I am currently looking for a UAI of 80 or 73 minimum to get into IT in UTS.

Ranks:

Adv. Eng (11/15)
Gen Maths (2/41)
IPT (4/16)
Bio (4/6)
Business Stu. (3/32)

School ranking - 139

Im really scarred I wouldn't get the UAI I need. What do you think guys?

More than likely to get over 80 looking from your ranks and school rank.

But I dont see how school rank affects this? Isnt school rank dependant of last year?

School does not necessarily affect your UAI. Only the top ranked person never gets pulled down by his/her cohort. So whatever he/she gets in HSC, she can expect her internals > externals which means that no one in his/her cohort can affect him/her in a negative manner. But if you are not the top ranked student, you will be affected by others in your year. (mostly by the people in front of you).

School rank we are talking about is obviously 2007 rank. We do this because that's the only recent rank that we know of and that acts as a reliable source when it comes to UAI estimation.

while it is true that a schools rank doesnt directly affect your result, it does indirectly through things like quality of teaching, access to materials, school resources etc. obviously the king's school is going to be able to attract better teachers with higher payrolls than small public schools and be able to offer things that other schools can't.

It'd be easier if there were some marks put up, but I think you can look forward to getting an 80-85.

Stuffed up extremely for Maths, was averaging high 80s in the year. Havnt gotten my English back yet.

Aiming for 80 to get into BScIT at UTS. Is it possible?

You should get 5 bonus points for your performance based on Adv English and IPT so you only really need 75-76 uai

So is it hard to get into that course in UTS?

I know of a person from my school who last year got into the course with 69 uai!

Lowest UAI they will consider is 66

you have a good chance of getting 80+ uai. Keep it up, one year and few months to go and good luck

Oh thats just awesome if that is true cause i am aceing my other subjects such as IPT and SDD with top 5 ranks in both of them (i go to a top 100 school). Both of these subjects are included in the HSC Bonus points scheme but i am very fearful that i might get in the 70s uai range due to my shit mathematics performance (not general maths).

Got my maths exam back today AND they friken missed out a whole section. Got an extra 8 marks and am now first :angry:
