How can you not find SAM unreliable.
It tells you what UAI you would get in certain year..

Its normally of by max 2 points.

Yeah, well we have no idea how hard your assessments are, nor your school rank.

its amazing how people managed to give out reliable sounding estimates without even asking for the school rank

Our estimate can be more accurate given the ranks of the school, marks and ranks. SAM does not obviously reflect that.

not if you learnt to use the SAM properly. remember the SAM is 100% accurate (in the given year), its just people failing to estimate their marks that makes it less so

It's not the matter of using the SAM properly. It's the matter of the marks that you enter in the SAM. Unless you know your future HSC result, the use of SAM is absolutely redundant.

I really suggest the OP to ask teachers about their opinions in regards to their estimations for her future HSC marks. Teachers are pretty good at that. I ask my teacher too, and he gives me a good estimation.

What would your school rank be, as in throughout the state?

School rank doesn't factor in anywhere when determining UAI anyhow

It comes in when asking to estimate. In fact, its quite crucial in estimating.
