I really want to know if it's possible for me to get an UAI of 99.5 or above (actually above 99 would be nice), without coming first in any of my subjects? I go to an average school. My ranks:

English (Adv) : 15/80+
Maths (3 unit): Top 10/ 40+
Maths (4 unit): 2/9
Physics: 2/20+
Chemistry: 2/40+
Biology: 10/30+ :(:( (lucky I have 12 units)

I know that my mark for Phy and Chem is VERY close to the 1st ranked mark (2% difference at most), my 3U maths rank isn't that good, but I'm confident I can do well in the actual HSC exam.
I'm aiming for (raw marks):
>95 for both my Physics and Chemistry.
Around 85-87% for English, 3U Maths >90%, 4U Maths I'm not sure but >85% is possible.

So, do I stand a chance?

itll be very difficult for you to get 99.5 since you need a really good ranking for english to be able to get 99.5
you basically need to rely on everyone in front of you as well as yourself to rip th externals for you to have any hope of gettin 99.5
all i could say to you is study hard and do your best

I'll be harsh.

Unless the top ten gets 99.5+ at your school in past years (or better) and your grade is similar or better than them, then afraid not...

Unless ppl at your school talks about UAI omitting the first 2 digits..
as in "I got .25" or "I got .40"
