Im in year 12, hoping to go to uni next year. Now, when I select my preferences. Is there any point of putting a course with a higher ATAR cut off below a course with a lower ATAR cut off. e.g

Med Sci at UTS 88.12
Med Sci at USYD 91.xx


Doesnt that defeat the purpose? Or is there a way you cant get into a course yet not have the desired ATAR ( Medicine, Pharmacy and Law excluded).

You only recieve 1 offer per round. You will be made an offer to the highest preferred course on your preferences assuming you meet its atar cutoff. I dont know if that answers your question.

forget about ATARs, just put down your preferences.

if you want to go to usyd more than uts, then put usyd first. if you dont get accepted into usyd, for whatever reason, they will consider your uts option.
