This movie has been suggested on various lists of possible related texts for History and memory. I have watched the film, but I am unsure of how to analyse it in terms of history and memory. The Fiftieth Gate is relatively easier, as one can easily see the distinction between history and memory, and how a combination of these two things provides a better representation of the past. But with The Pianist, I do not see this clear distinction, as it is just a recollection of the events of the Holocaust for one man.
