Hey guys,
I'm starting English Extension next year and I'm doing the module Texts, Culture and Values (as said in the title). I like English and I want to do well in it so, to those past e.ext students, could you give me a run down on what this whole module is about? I've sifted through the syllabus and, still, cannot fathom what it's all about.
However, I do have as general idea (please correct me if I'm wrong): is it about learning how texts are valued/show values of a range of contexts? I.e. A movie incorporates elements of feminism, humanism and post modernism? If so, is this how you'll be writing your essay about, talking about how a text brings out values of a range of contexts?
I don't know.
Any help will be appreciated!
thanks
