This thread will contain a definitive list of supplementary material, which will be regularly updated – you do not need to search through the entire thread. Feel free to add to the list, however NO QUESTIONS IN THIS THREAD PLEASE! Only suggestions. Ta :)

All “what related texts should I use?” threads will be DELETED.

NB: Posts may be routinely deleted to allow for easy searching of “new” posts and related text information provided by BOSmembers. Also, do not be afraid if a “glittermark” appears on your post – this is just my way of keeping track of what I have and haven’t got up to yet. :)

I have some poems to add to the list

Kubla Khan by Coleridge
Why We Tell Stories by Lisel Mueller

we have looked at both of these in class and they work well.

Children of Men - Film (Alfonso Cuaron) or book(P.D.James), I'm using the film

Interview with the Vampire - Again, film (David Geffen) or book (Anne Rice), using the book this time

Also considered using 'The Song of Phaid the Gambler' (Mick Farren), but I didn't want to ruin the book by analysing the shit out of it so I couldn't read it again ;p

Short story: "Colour Vision" by Mary Rosenblum. Brilliant, easy to talk about, fits into Fantasy nicely.

I don't know the directors of these, but:
ultraviolet [movie]
aeonflux [movie] may be a two word title... not sure.
van helsing [movie]
nineteen eighty-four [book] george orwell
equilibrium [movie]
the brothers grimm [movie]
king arthur [movie]

and that is all that I could think of, I'm using serenity, which was mentioned in another post, so I didn't repeat it, and nineteen eighty-four, ultraviolet and van helsing if I can't find something else fantasy.
