hey guys,
i am in year 10 and i have to do my subject selection this week but i am confused which maths i should do. I am in 10.1 for maths and am doing the 5.3 course but i am not the top student in class. i was confused weather i should do extension 1 or not.

what is 10.1 and what is 5.3? Do you enjoy maths so far? Extension 1 is a fair bit more challenging than year 10 (obviously), but it is definitely manageable if you put the work in. you should definitely sign up, and if you are struggling, then drop it!! otherwise you may have regrets about never choosing it.

I have no idea what is 10.1 (maybe his class number) but 5.3 is the advanced course for year 10 maths.

To op go for it, I didn't even do 5.3 and got into extension 1 maths.

If you feel that it is too hard, don't give up until half way year 12

lol i never knew there were levels of maths in year 10?!? maybe my school makes everyone do this 5.3 thing cos we're selective?
