Hey guys, through my time studying ext 1 and ext2.. I find those topics prob in particular to be the most confusing..

I know how to prove identies in perms/combs.. but when it comes to probabilty... I screw it.. the only question i get wrong in my exam papers are the stupid prob/perms and sometimes comb questions..

Can some one help me out here.. what are the "FACTS" I should know to ace the question relating to these questions. Thanks in advance..

PS: I have no trouble with the other topics only this topic.. Losing 4-5 marks can make a difference...

can you post an example of a question that you find confusing? In general, for probability just find the probability of one case of a certain event occuring, and multiply by the number of ways it can happen.

I haven't done enough questions to give you good general tips, or what type of questions usually come up. Just use logic to figure out when to multiply or divide by a factorial, or n, or whatever else. If you post up some questions maybe I could help more.
