A year on and still don't know if I am in the right degree? Should I just continue with my degree or transfer?

Does anyone else feel this way :(

I have the same problem... Currently doing B Arts and Business @ unsw, parents urging me to transfer into Commerce or at least Economics.
I don't 'like' Commerce/Eco, as in I don't mind doing it, but it's not something I would actively choose to do.
My interests lie in Artsy subjects, but of course there's the whole stigma over Arts degrees alone. So confused, I don't even know enough about my current course to figure out what options there are for me in the future.

Im doing B Science at Usyd this year, does anyone know who the best person would be to talk to? Should I talk to the Faculty of Science Office?

Transfer to something which provides a wide range of job opportunties and have interest in.

i.e not your current degree.

I do straight comm at UNSW and I honestly hate it with a passion. Haha, so I feel ya, I want to do an arts degree as well - possibly studying psych or history.

HOWEVER my job depends on me completing my comm degree, so I'm not in the same position as you to opt out (I'm looking to transfer uni's to start fresh).

A business degree helps in employability. So just take that into consideration when making your decision.

Do what YOU will enjoy because honestly, your parents aren't the ones having to study it.

Log into CareerHub (just under 'For Students') using your unikey and password, then click 'Book an Appointment' on the left hand side of the appointment. You can organise to meet with a professional careers advisor to discuss what your options are.

If you're more looking about asking questions to do with the admin side of things and changing degrees, then you need to go to the faculty office.

I think talking to the Faculty of Science Office would not really be helpful for you because they have expertise in dealing with science subject enrolment and related matters, I don't think they are professionally trained to deal with confused students about whether they should stay in a science degree or not-because this requires a more psychological/emotional/skill assessment than most people who work in offices are equipped to do. I would suggest you either talk to a career adviser in your uni or consider why you are confused whether you are in the right degree or not? Is it because you are not finding the content engaging? Is it because you are worried about job prospects? Is it because you don't feel excited by the thought of graduating from this degree? It might be normal to feel a bit confused after first year since first year subjects are generally quite broad, so you may not yet get the chance to get a taste of specialised subjects that is more relevant to your major.

Is there a particular industry or a particular role you are interested in after graduating?
