I feel the same way... I suppose you just have to do your best. Theres no shame in being outclassed by geniuses. Just think, your losing to the smartest people in the state ;)

I would of thought that the ability to do 4U Maths was a sign, or a hint of aptitude. I don't think you should look at things that pessimestically. :p

Directly, yes. Indirectly, no.

Don't worry bout the competition, they're as worried as you are.

like everyone has been saying dont worry, there are PLENTY of others, the majority, who will feel the same looking at people like you [and others with your level of geniousity]. i know, i was one of them :p

but seriously, heaps of "dumb" [relatively] do 4u, so you'll be ranked amongst the top few percent, or some really high percentile.

Indirectly... unless someone's aiming for the medal, it's quite valid to keep others out of the equation and concentrate on the paper. coz the distribution of marks will be similar, you will always find 115+ freaks, quite some 100+, no matter which year it is

4U gets really high scaling anyway, so even a half-decent raw mark will get you a good overall mark. So prepare well and try ur best and it will be all good.

that isnt entirely true.
this is a little off topic, but i know a person who brags on about how a friend of mine beat them in the hsc. she is like, "i cant believe it...i go to a selective and he beat me....he used to look up to me coz i was so smart and he beat me in the hsc..."

and this is like at the end of the first semester.

people, in general, do get over what they get in the hsc. it is an equal playing field when you start uni.
having said that, seeing what you can acheive to your fullest is another thing, a very good thing imo. :)

I know the feeling... I look around at questions posted and stuff, and I'm like, ...huh?
And then there's my friend, who I can never ever beat (I can tie in 2U and 3U though :p), she'll get 99% and I'll get 76% and come second... she's crazy...
Ahh... stupid smart people... yes, I know, it's juxtapositioning...
