heyy guys im looking at the properties of the soft iron core in a transformer. i was wondering if the soft iron core was double the length, so the distance between the two coils was doubled, would you expect the current to be halved.

also how would a change in frequency affect the current.</SPAN>

No of course the current wouldn't be halved, maybe some more energy loss because larger eddy currents can form on the soft iron core but nowhere near half.

The iron core concentrates almost all the flux through the coils so the size of the core has not much effect here. Eddy currents would increase due to larger place for the currents to flow.

Voltage induced in secondary coil is proportional to frequency of primary current as a result of Faraday's Law.
