partical moving SHM has acceleration= -9x, x=metres, t=seconds
x=asin(3t + B) is a possible equation for motion
initially accleration= 18 m/s2, after 5pi/18 seconds velocity=12 m/s.
Show the amplitude =4m

and

particle moving along a horizontal line has an acceleration = -4x, x=metres, t=seconds
initially particle is at rest at x=-3
find an expression for the displacement in terms of t

(for the 2nd, i used the d/dx(1/2V^2) method to get dx/dt then got the inverse function + integrated, which gives inverse sin, but i didnt know where to go from there and the answer uses inverse cos. They note that inverse sin will also work but i dont understand how either works, final answer is x=-3cos2t.)

thanks in advance :)
