how do they actually select em?

Some are, other aren't. The most commonly known one is if your UAI is 99.5+ you get 2500 per year provided you maintain a GPA of 3.5+ (Between Credit and Distinction Average). It just depends.

that 99.5+ is the superinnovation schl and u can only get it if you have a mq course as ur first pref. If you have around 98.5 you have a good chance of getting the innovation schl. But that 98.5 figure is approx, depending on how many ppl apply.
You will continue receiving that scholarphip each year as long as you maintian a gpa above 3.5, which is credit/distinction.

there are other scholarsphips like the coops from other uni and also ones for financially struggling students.

they make it known to their level 2 partner schools.
like my high school had a liason from mq uni who told us about the offer. she also came to present the scholarships.

therefore it was not open to everyone, only students from certain schools, so your school may not have been part of it

the only scholarship that every1 can apply for is the super and non super innovation scholarships. they depend on your uai and whether u incl mq as ur 1st pref or not.

every course has its individual collection of scholarships

the 5uai bonus...supposably doesnt depend on what course you do, but the application form does ask what course you want to study.

The 5 UAI bonus is for the disadvantaged. Eg. your pet was sick and you were traumatised, you can't speak English, etc.

mac also does something with their partner schools, and they let some students get 5 points, on the basis that they have participated in different areas of school life

for the partner school thing? i think they just choose people (who fill out an application form from their school) they feel will study, and who have participated in areas of school, not really considering the course too much

Hi, that is no longer the case. I have been notified that as long as MQ is one of your top 4 preferences, you will be considered.

supra are u in this yr's hsc grade? if so it's already too late

and have a uai of over 98?

This one depends very much on the Division you are in. If you do Commerce, it's harder to get than if you do Arts.
