Scaling: have they got rid of 4UC and 4UA (1 Viewer)

Yes.

Maths Extension 1 is now scaled in the same way regardless of whether or not you did Extension 2.

bugger. then what's the point of me doing 4 units? that was the WHOLE reason I was doing it!!

yeah in 2001 it was a lot better for 4unit people casue 3unit was scaled to average of 45 now all 3unit is scaled to average of around 39.5 or something close to that out of 50. still it is very good, but think its with all 3unit people and those doing 4unit are most likely going to do better than most of the 2/3unit people anyway so it really wouldnt make the greatest difference, i dont think anyway

In theory, the difference wasn't that great, however, it turned out to have some effect. If only it didn't...

The changes were already implemented for the 2002 HSC.

I don't think anything new is being done this year.

well, lets just say my year ie. 2002, the ext2 people didn't go all that well in ext1 paper... so ext2 scaling was watered down. lol - watered down.

its a disadvantage, in short.
