Hi all,

just to clarify - is is necessary that you actually quote specific sources in the core, or is it sufficient just to mention 'Source X depicts Y & Z"?

The sample answers don't include references and with the space restraints I'm not sure what is accepted.

Thanks!

Eh, generally I don't think it's necessary. Unless it genuinely helps prove your point, I don't think you need any more than that.

Hi Chiddy,

It is not necessary to quote specific evidence from sources in the core section. But remember that it is important to look at the mark allocation as it can vary from year to year. If the mark allocation is one of higher order, then this would be a better situation to quote specifically to broaden your use of evidence (but do not quote too much). If you believe that your points are sophisticated enough without specific quotes, then by all means, do what your comfortable with. Just remember to also use your own knowledge as well. All the best.
