Is anyone here familiar with the term recovery testing?

Its a bit ambiguous.

Is it
- Testing whether the recovery procedure works?
- Testing if the data recovered is accurate?
- Testing the data to ensure that either forward recovery or backward recovery is more suitable (Fatmuscle's notes)?

I haven't come across Recovery Testing in IPT, but in SDD it has to do with the ability of the system to recover from failures or crashes, or the amount of time required for humans to bring it back to working order.
