i just wanted to ask what marks would i need to get an ATAR of 85 and above because i need it to get into the course i want to do in uni

i do 2u maths, modern history, standard english, economics, legal studies and music 1

Experiment with an ATAR calculator. I's say you would probably need at a minimum low band 5's/high band 4's

yeah i did cept it isn't accurate i heard?
and band 5's are 80 + right?

Band 5's are 80-89. The ATAR calculators are very accurate. The rule of thumb is the higher the estimate, the more accurate the calculator is. I'd say for estimates ranging from 80-90, the margin of error would be at most plus or minus two ATAR points. A mate of mine got 82 and the calculators estimated 82.9 for him the day he got his HSC results.
