The line y=mx-3 is a tangent to the curve y= x^3 + x^2 with the point P where
x= alpha.

i) Describe the nature of the roots.
Is it the will be a double root at where at the Point P.

ii) Find the roots of this equation and the value of m.

i) if alpha is a root then yes there is a double root at x=0 which is a minimum and the other root is x=-1 which is just an x intercept

ii) well if the line passes through the one of the roots hence sub (-1,0) and (0,0) into dy/dx which will find the values of m, which are m=1 or m=0
