I was stumped here...mainly cause i didnt study polynomials :p
how did everybody go about solving this?

sub x=-1, x=3....evaluate a,b
then the remainder is ax + (a+b)

i figured what a and b were...but what was the remainder when u divided it by x+1 and x-3??? i knew that i shoulda known cos i remember doing something similar before..but i just completely blanked out...and i still havent been unblanked..hehe

isnt the remainder meant to be a whole number?..i worked out the 3x - 8 bit...but i thought u could eliminate the x?
