the answer is 11/36 somehow :/

Bob tosses two dice with faces numbered 1 to 6. He records the maximum of the two uppermost faces as a score.
i. Find the probability that he records the score 1 in a single throw of the two dice.
ii. Find the probability that he records the scores 1, 1, 1 in three tosses of the two dice.
iii. Find the probability that he records the score 6 in a single throw of the two dice.¤

Basically draw a grid with 6 columns and 6 rows labelled 1 to 6 respectively. You will find that 6 beats 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 and there's 2 dice so that's 10 possibilities. However when there are two 6s a 6 is recorded so that's 11 possibilities.

The total possibilities from the grid are 6x6 = 36

So P = desired/total = 11/36
