Hey, just about to start year eleven on monday, and was just wonderin for any advice on the subjects i've chosen

My choices currently:

- English Advanced
- English Extension 1
- Mathematics
- Math Extension 1
- Physics
- Multimedia
- Visual Arts (?)
- Studies of Religion 1

I'm reasonably certain about most of my choices (unfortunately SOR1 is compulsory), and mostly uncertain about visual arts.

The other subjects in the visual arts line that im considering include:
- Ancient History
- Biology
- Bussiness Studies
- Italian Beginners
- Legal Studies

Im probs going to drop this line when year 12 starts, and maybe also english extension, and pick up math extension 2 depending on how i go in math extension

It's up to you, do you like visual arts, do you like legal studies better, etc. if you arn't sure what you do in a subject the syllabus is your friend. They look like some good subjects though.

There will be a lot of major work to be submitted for Visual Arts, so if you choose to pick it, then you should keep that in mind. I guess VA is less demanding as a subject compared to the others. So if it would be a nice balance for your more rigorous subjects like the extensions.
Are you a creative person? Did you do VA as an elective in junior school, and if so, did you enjoy it?

still unsure? then I'd suggest talking to the teachers, see what the assessments are like + looking through textbooks to give yourself an idea of what to expect in the subjects in that particular line.
Good luck with Year 11!!!

You're clearly capable of all of them and just want to make a choice you won't regret later on... probably because of lack of interest or bad teacher or whatever.
I had a choice between Ancient History, Business Studies, Legal Studies and Visual Arts on one line. I chose Ancient History becasue I love history and our teacher is so enthusiastic it's hard not to be interested.

In year 9 & 10 I took Commerce as an elective and it bored me to death. The legal sections were just a bunch of faceless techinicalities and heirarchies and the finance sections were just applications of simple and tedious maths. So naturally I avoided those choices. I did consider Visual Arts because I've been taking art classes outside of school for a while and have become quite interested, but I realised that VA didn't offer me anything I didn't already have the opportunity to learn.

So my advice would be Ancient if you're interested in ancient cultures and have analytical skills and want to apply them or maybe Biology if you're more science oriented. :D
