Can anyone predict or have a rough idea on the pract test i did??

Well the test was based on natural selection

Beans were filled in Beaker(Enviroment A) and cylinder ( Enviroment B)

There were 2 species of birds : 1. Our hands 2. Teezers

Then we have to use our hands and teezers to get as many as beans as we can on each enviroment in 30 secs

the results were birds with hands got more beans in the beaker ( Enviroment A) and Birds with teezers got more beans in the cyliner ( Enviroment B)

Finally, the question was:

What is the selective pressure?
and explain

Does anyone know what the selective pressure was in that pract?

If anyone knows, help would be greatly appreciated.

Selective pressures of the environment act upon gene pool of populations, selecting those individuals with the best adaptive variations to survive, reproduce and slowly have their favourable characteristics dominate the population over time. Unfit organisms that do not reproduce, has it genes removed from the gene pool.

So in your prac, the selective pressure is the geometry of the containers in which you store the food (beans) for the birds. ie the clinder environment demands the hunters to have narrow beaks inorder to survive and gather food.
