Anyone have any experience with these rooms and their points?

Edit: slipping in another question here, Do you need Books for Lectures or are they mainly for Tuts and do you need any books during week 1?

Pretty sure Eastern Av Auditorium has powerpoints in some rows but not sure about the others. In a lot of rooms you'll find a few powerpoints but they're mainly intended for the cleaners so they won't be conveniently placed if you want to plug in a laptop.

On the textbooks issue, how they're used varies from subject to subject. I doubt you'd ever need them in lectures but maybe in some technical disciplines? You probably won't need them during week 1, and you definitely shouldn't buy them until after your first lecture. A lot of the books that they put on the Co-op website are really just optional and it's a waste of money to buy them all. The lecturer will explain which ones are actually compulsory and which ones you can not bother with.
