I've wanted to enter this forum since Year 12 started, and now HSC's finished. Yay! I've got so many books I want to read it's not funny...a snippet:

- Mystic Rose by Stephen LAwhead (finishing the Celtic Crusades trilogy)
- An Echo in Time: Atlantis, Masters of Reality by Traci Harding (finishing the Ancient Future trilogy)
- Mostly Jules Verne, Jane Austen, Charlotte Bronte, Charles Dickens, Stephen King, John Marsden, John Grisham, Isobelle Carmody, Mark Twain, George Eliot, Dan Brown
- Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis (before I go and watch the movie!)
- 1984 by George Orwell
- Deltora Quest 3 by Emily Rodda
- Tess of the d'Ubervilles by Thomas Hardy
- The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins
- The Portrait of a LAdy by Henry James
- Phantom of the Opera by Gaston LeRoux
- The Silmarillion by Tolkien

And many others...I have to catch up on classics, since I was brought up in a most ignorant education system overseas before coming here, and Eng Ext has inspired me to read them! :D

Go fantasy, sci-fi, horror...everything (except romance--just too mushy for my liking)

Now I know what these post-HSC hols are for...:D

I've only asked for a few this year -

How to be Good - Nick Hornby
Troublesome Words - Bill Bryson
The Divine Comedy - Dante (i've only ever read Inferno)
Assorted Poetry (Penguin) - Keats

And I think I'll add Sophie's World by Jostein Gaarder to the list.

I tend to buy books which aren't on my wishlist before I do buy the ones which are.. something to do with perfection (perfect cover, perfect price, perfect font.. long list). A few books I want:

* Goedel, Escher, Bach - Douglas Hofstadter
* Crime and Punishment - Dostoevsky
* any of the Thursday Next series which I don't already have - Jasper Fforde
* A Portrait in Sepia - Isabel Allende

Bit of this, bit of that. :) And the Gaarder books are lovely.

The only book I really, really want more than any other is Robert Jordan's A Memory of Light, the 12th and final book in The Wheel of Time series. But I'll have to wait about 18 months for the 2000-page bonanza.
Yeah. I'm in the same boat.
Waiting for KoD was bad enough. :(
