Im stumped on a question which i know is easy but dnt know where to start from.

Find the coordinates of the four points A,B,C,D which divide the interval joining S(-2,3) and T(8,18) into five equal sub intervals (you will need the ratio division formula)

i just cant work out what i shud put in as ratio. If they are equal sub intervals den shuldnt the middle one be the same distance apart from S and T. I tried finding out 1 point and seeing if they were 1 point in the answers but it wasnt:angry:

ST is divided in2 five separate parts, and they are equal, if you draw a picture, you should end up with the following points:

If I am correct,
Point A divides ST in the ratio of 1:4
Point B divides ST in the ratio of 2:3
Point C divides ST in the ratio of 3:2
Point D divides ST in the ratio of 4:1

(all internally)

See if that works...
