Hello Everyone!

I am having a great deal of trouble with an Advanced English Assessment Task for the HSC.

The task is:

"Compose a visual representation in which you explain your reading of King Lear. In your visual representation you must make a comparison between your reading and TWO other readings of King Lear."

So far I have chosen Sir Richard Eyre's and Peter Brook's productions of King Lear.
I am struggling to find images, i am looking to movie stills. If anyone could point me in the direction of some good images that would be most appreciated.

Cheers Hannah

hmmm i dont really get the question...but the first thing i'd do is sit down and make sure i know my reading. in your reading of course you'd pull out a couple of key scenes from both films and of course the text itself because we're studying SHAKESPEARE'S king lear, not other people's readings. so analyse a few scenes from the play, find a couple of scenes in the movies that fit your interpretation and then you have you reading. Like if your reading of the play is that Lear is an evil freak ( like brook) then you'd refer to him quite a bit for act 2 sc 4, where you can see how menacing he's being towards his daughters. don't know about eyre, haven't done it.
and in reference to the visual rep part, why don't you ask your teacher? they'll be able to point you in the right direction :D

Hey, Thankyou very much for responding. That was our whole grades interpretation of the question, there was much controversy over it.
My reading is more of a traditional one, I just see it as a story following the fall of a great leader as a result of his weakness...
Thankyou Hannah
