A hand roller is pulled by a force of 300N. Calculate the components of the force in both the horizontal and vertical directions???

I really dont understand all these components stuff so if anyone can guide me through it, that'll be greatly appreciated :)

umm they don't tell you a direction of the 300N? so you can't work out the components.

but in general..
x component = magnitude cos angle
y component = magnitude sin angle

where angle is the angle made with the positive x axis

OMG...
Magnitude=size...in this case the size of the force, which is 300N

r=sqrt(x^2+y^2)
theta = tan-1(y/x)

x=r cos(theta)
y=r sin(theta)

these are like 1000% needed to know. really basic. really important.
