Does scaling occur after my moderated assessment mark and external mark is averaged out?

I want to know this because I’m aware a 77 in extension 2 maths is usually a band 6/E4 and so my internal mark is 69 (rank 3rd) and after moderation I could probably bump it up to 77-78 (expect to get above 80 in the externals; clutched a 75 for the CSSA trials)

So will the scaling apply after the moderated assessment mark and external mark is averaged?

That is correct. Scaling follows the calculation of the average of the moderated assessment mark and the raw HSC exam mark for a particular subject (in this case, Mathematics Extension 2). Consider the following example:

Subsequently, the raw HSC mark will be scaled, resulting in a scaled HSC mark to be used by UAC as part of determining the student's ATAR.

I would also suggest having a look at the BoS Flowchart for additional reference, which is accessible using the following link:

I hope this helps! :D
