Hi I'm totally new to this IPT thing, and I'm most likely doing it for prelim-hsc.
First of all can someone one tell what it's like?
What kind of work do they give?
Are there a lot of tests?
Do you need to memorise of things?
Do you mostly do theory or your on the computer most of the time?
Do we need to make a portfolio?

Thanks

First of all can someone one tell what it's like? It's not difficult.
What kind of work do they give? Normal work, comprehension, assignments class homework
Are there a lot of tests? Half yearly and yearly?
Do you need to memorise of things? There are certain terms and concepts you may need to remember, but most things are understandable.
Do you mostly do theory or your on the computer most of the time? Theory and practical . About 50/50.
Do we need to make a portfolio? No. You will be given assignments.

The above post pretty much sums it up for I.P.T. It's a pretty easy subject if you like it. I'd recommend it if you are into technology and computers.

1. beware of those major projects
2. well not really memorise learn concepts and terms then relate them to real life situations
3. In year 12 theres 2 major assignments and 3 exams half yrly, trials + HSC
4. mostly theory, projects on computers which you will have to learn - we did databases and multimedia project which we can use any application
5. Portfolio yes in major assignments
6. IM FAILING -- i used the major projects to push my marks up
7. in year 11 - loved the bludge but use this to get used to IPT i guess, theres 1 assignment though

Why not ask your questions to your teacher?
What kind of work and the number of tests will be decided by YOUR teacher at YOUR school.
Memorise of things? this IS the HSC and you'll be sitting a 3 hour written exam and yes you'll need to remember definitions
Theory or computer? well if you are on the computer most of the time not doing course related stuff you won't expect to receive a decent mark will you ?? really??
Portfolio? back to asking the teacher
