Hi ppl, well im comin to yr 12 this yr, and because i didn't do so well in my first HSC exam, i would like to come to you for advice because after FAILING a test i feel disheartened for my future HSC results, and hence my UAI.

My questions are:
1) If you FAIL one school exam (PHYSICS) worth 15% towards your HSC, will you screw up your UAI?

2) If you wish to acheive a UAI of 100, what mark out of 500 are you looking forward to get, and what % in test do u consistently need to acheive?

3) If i acheive well in my other subjects, but failed that school exam, how dramatically will it effect my UAI? No 100 =( ??

4) Because i do MathsE1 and do religion 1u, say if i count E1
My subs im counting are: mathsX1, eng (adv), eco, phy, religion.
I also do business can i split the business mark to replace my religion mark if it is higher??? unsure. Are these subject good enough to get that 100? i don't do any E2 subs.

I apologise if these questions are tedious, and have been already answered but i am desprately trying to recommit and motivate myself. Thanks

1) Certainly not. But that depends on what UAI you are aiming for.

Marks aren't as improtant as ranking, if you fail a 15% assessment you still have 85% left. Which is a LOT.

Never give up even if you fail other assessments. You WILL be surprised how well you can do if you do goo din the HSC exam.

2) This is explained in a thread "aggregates, bands and uai's". You would need around 470ish aggregrate.

3)If you failed it, as in less than 50, most likely your chances of getting 100 is slim.

4) Yes subjects can be split. They take the best 10 units including 2 units of English to calculation. This icludes splitting then up into 1 units.

You can achieve 100 with any subject combination.
