Hey

I have been offered Computer Science at Macquarie University, but after learning that it is quite boring and mostly programming and mathematics, I am looking for an alternative. I would like to maybe become a systems analysist and/or project manager for businesses or anything else that is high paying with a somewhat senior position.

Should I change to a Bachelor of Business Admin and Information Systems (BUSN19) or eBusiness (management) ?

Eventually I would like to run my own business, but I am wondering which degree will lead to the most lucrative job.

Thank you for your help

I don't think there is any easy way of climbing to the top without actually working your way up. If you want a high-paying senior position in computing/ system analysis, then you obviously need to know all about it, and that includes the crucial maths and programming elements to it.

In my opinion industry certification - for example MCSE would probably get you higher faster along with good old fashioned HARD WORK, I know that when we recruit IT Managers, IT Director we require them to have industry certification and very rarely in that field do we look for a degree.. but each company is different!!

The three companies i have worked for of which two employed over 2,000 people prefered industry cert.

So its up to you - degree and industry cert would be almost perfect!!
