Mod Arg on Caclulator (1 Viewer)

gday all

i remember a while back someone at school was showing me how u can plug in any imaginary number to ur calculatopr and press keys etc and calculate the mod /arg for that number (good for weird val;ues)

ive got a sharp....does anyone know how 2 do this or hit me up with a useful link?

I remember seeing an "i" on a calculator once and it looked like a normal casio, except it was way cooler. I think I remember the teacher saying that they are banned...

nah they arent banned, i did it on my basic sharp calculator which i used in last year's hsc and is approved, u can do it on all of em, come one, someone show me how 2 do it again.... (it used the x, y underneath the 'STO. button from memory..."

I got a casio fx-100s. There is an i button which is same as the sto-rcl button.

First Change it to Complex mode or "cmplx" mode or something, then to punch in 2+3i:

{ 2 } { + } { 3 } { STO/RCL/i } { = }

Then there is a arg button on my { ( } key, so to find arg:

{ 2 } { + } { 3 } { STO/RCL/i } { = } { SHIFT } { ( / Arg } { = }

similarly for mod, or my { |z| } key

not all calculators have it tho. it aint that much of a bitch to do it yourself

oi fuck off dula, its actually really handy.....in the trial, when we had the complex in question 8, the numbers were really shitty and i wanted 2 use it 2 confirm i had the right answer before i hacked into pages of algebra, buit i couldnt remember how 2 do it.....its just handy 2 know

{Pol(} {x value} {,} {y value} {)} will give you the mod on a Casio without complex mode. {RCL} {F} (or whatever is used to recall value in F) gives angle.
