i found just re-reading them in short turns really helped

or try mind-maps, cos u're reading the notes to make the mind maps.

someone from 04 history class, had a whiteboard marker & wrote on his bedroom windows & it worked for him.

Highlighting the key points whiile reading then reading the highlighted notes continuous helps me. Also re-writing notes from syllabus dot points helps.

I've been told that using colours of the rainbow does help memorise your notes. Also you should group your notes according to topics or modules; memorising notes that are all over the place will make it harder to remember concepts.

I think this is up to you find out which is better for you, by trying out both. I personally prefer writing them out, it helps me to reinforce the info.

I just write them in loads of different forms. I'm even in the process of making interactive Flash files of most of my subjects for when I don't feel like writing. I remember things better if I can associate my notes with a particular image or song, so Flash presentations rock for me. That and I remember things off the computer way better than out of a book. :)
