How fucking disgraceful is this show? Televising a bunch of med students attempting to cure the anorexic girl. The things they'll fucking do for ratings.

id think the prospective patients would get a sizable royalty for their services and have to sign confidentiality aggreements allowing the network to broadcast all likenesses of them in any form they chosse.

no, most reality tv is shit.
agreed. I still dont understand how they get around all the legal stuff with this show though and I really dont understand why you would let yourself be filmed if you were a patient or a doctor, so much room for bad editing and fuck ups

like i said everyone who is seen on the show has signed confidentiality agreements signing off their voice and all likenesses to the network, they would have also been payed a decent amount for their troubles.

ie in shows like the amazing race everyone who has helped a racer and all ppl involved and shown on camera are made to sign confidentiality agreements, if they dont they're edited out.

thats why there were no other patients in that shot of the 'adolescent' ward.

I actually think medical rookies is an excellent show. It gives young medical-hopefuls and idea of what's waiting for them after universtity studies.
Also, the surgeons and other doctors are not "rookies". They are training to become specialists and make up a HUGE percentage of the medical staff in all hospitals. These registrars are not rookies, as they have been observing and assisting in operations for MANY years.
Yes anyways that's my view. Then again I might be a bit biased as I want to become a doctor :p
