Hi,

could someone please explain why, in question 7, the 'resistive force' is not proportional to the mass of the particle, but it is for Julie's earrings (does it have to do with the terms 'resistive force' and 'air resistance' ?.

it's just the type of question. In the first case it is and the second case it isn't. You just have to read the question

It IS proportional to the mass. But the mass is a constant 10. This is built into the factor of 1/9
