maximum acceleration/velocity (1 Viewer)

Hi!!

Could someone please explain to me how do I find the maximum acceleration/velocity? Is it something to do witht he max and min values of sin/cos curves? :mad1:

I'm pretty confused =S

Can you be more specific as to what this applies to?

Maximum velocity occurs when acceleration does in fact equal 0=/
Maximum accelaration...I guess it depends on the acceleration equation - how it relates to t or x.

Are you referring to projectile motion here?

Maximum/minimum velocity occurs when acceleration is zero. An easy way to interpret this is that the derivative of velocity (hence acceleration is zero) is zero at a maximum or minimum point. (remember to check sign changes to see if it is max or min)
