I might sound a bit ignorant, but I think Julia Bishop could have really put a good face forward for the Liberal Party. She is intelligent, well spoken and doesn't posess a repugnant male ego.

gah! bishop always seems to be baffled by Gillard during question time and only ever responds with that glare that makes her look like she's constipated. Would disagree with what you said cause she couldn't even handle being deputy treasurer and failed to deal with media accordingly - it's the reason why she was demoted. I don't see why she's always offered the deputy leader role... but guess she's better then pyne or dutton.
