Hi everyone,
No sound can be played through my Harmon/Kardon speakers. They are built into the laptop and I don't think I've done anything to cause this. I have been through reinstalling the driver etc..

What does it take to fix something like theis? The music 'seems' to be playing. there is no error message saying that audio device is not working properly. I even checked device manager. So I'm guessing the hardware failed..?

Any tips?

Thanks. :)

Did you check your volume controls? You might have turned off the audio or muted it accidently.

Hey I had a hardware problem with my laptop speakers. However, due to the fact that it was still under warrenty I rang HP and they organised total replacement. If you have warrenty call the help desk for your laptop - if not, you can probably do the same, although obviously it will cost.
Good Luck

I used to have a 166Mhz Laptop which due to a power failure the speaker went dead for months. Then one night the power went down again and the next boot-up the stupid Windows 98 sounds cam e on FULL BLAST.

So I recommend removing the battery and AC adaptor and plug them back in again and see.
