I received an email with the header, "Congratulations_____" "It's yours for the taking" and a personalised video. Just confused whether this is an automated message for people who have applied for a Usyd course...

If it doesn't specify a specific degree nor instructions on how to accept an offer and enrol, then it isn't an offer.

It's not really an offer. It's basically saying you got a good enough ATAR, so put this course as your first preference and you'll be offered a place during the UAC main round.

So yeah, it's an automated message which I also got last year.

It is a marketing message. Offers are released on Thursday.

Yeah...I'm still confused...I don't want to mess up my preferences and end up not going to uni at all haha. I also cant contact Usyd since they don't operate on weekends :(

That email would have explained how to get a usyd offer if you were eligible (and assuming that is the offer you want).

Yeah, they briefly mentioned: "When it comes to preferences make sure to make your dream course first" Does that count?

Thanks.
