advanced or extension 1. i am doing extension 1 maths but my teacher said we are doing only the maths advanced side of differentiation for now, but then put in motion in a straight line, i don't know if this is extension or advanced because we are doing exercises not from textbook

By that if you mean motion in one dimension, then yes, it is advanced work

Motion, in general, does not need to be in a straight line. In your Adv & Ext 1 Maths, you are usually dealing with motion in a straight line, because this is the easiest to deal with. Motion in a straight line is often referred to as "rectilinear motion".
