Is learning something at school and going home and revising the exact thing you learnt at school effective? E.g Learning functions at school and going home and revising that exact thing.

Thanks!

The best way to check understanding and consolidate knowledge is through doing questions of different styles and difficulty - so, text book questions at first, then questions from past assessments. Ultimately, you will develop a robust understanding by doing questions that require you to apply your understanding in different contexts and across multiple topics.

This will depend on the content. If you were able to understand the content and you were able to do enough practice question to reinforce the content and check your understanding then yes you will not need to practice the content at home.

If you feel uncomfortable with the content then consider practicing it at home. Pay attention to what definition, axioms and theorems are being used for each question. How are they applied. If necessary try referring to YouTube, math stackexchange or boredofstudies for help with a question.
