Even though your atar is lower than the cut-off, is it still possible to recieve an offer in the later rounds due to vacancies?

You don't understand what the cut-off means if you ask this.

What they do is they fill all their spots and the person who fills the last spot has their ATAR as the cut-off.

If there are 100 places for Science and the 100th person accepted has an ATAR of 82, then the cut-off is 82.

But vacancies do occur in later rounds, and for courses in demand - the cut-off rises in successive rounds. For courses not in demand, the ATAR lowers.
