For question 44, the answer explanation was that first we find the proportion of men and women who can hear using the ratio in the table:
i.e.
for men = 100000 x 21/139 = ~15108
for women = 100000 x 30/102 = ~29412

and then calculate the percentages of these hearing adults who are under 25

for men = 15108 x 0.991 = 14972
for women = 29412 x 0.986 = 29000

and sum to get answer around 43870 answer D



but isn't the question asking for adults under 25 (i.e. 18<x<25) in total? not those who can hear?

methinks the answer is wrong - anyway please send me some harder QR questions you have found because i am struggling more for this section that I thought i would

You are correct. Taking a look at the question it can be worded better.
