This course seems almost identical to Commerce with a IS major.
Is that the case but without the choice of other majors?

Would that mean i take core classes with the Commerce students but technically not get a degree in Commerce but rather one in something else?

EDIT: Also, would i have much of a chance doing IS then transferring to Com and doing IS major?

The only reason to have anything to do with IS is if you got into BIT... Information systems degree is for those who didn't make the Commerce cut-off - you can transfer later but the usual caveats when transferring into a course with higher UAI reqs apply.
