Inspired by recent dicussions on other threads.. i thought i would start an "Illnesses, injuries, breakages.. what have you got/had??" thread....

As i have mentioned before i am a clutz.... with several broken bones - arm, wrist (3 times), right ankle twice, several fingers.

Dislocated; hip and fingers

recent (last year) illnesses and operations; glandular fever, pneumonia, several flus, an ankle operation and two ear operations..

Plus a constant illness of diabetes...

Let's hear war stories!!!!

I never really understood how people manage to cause so much damage to their bodies. I mean I've run into trouble before but I've never broken a bone ( that I know of ) before. =\

haha, i dont know how people dont cause damage to their bodies!! Like my mother has never broken anything in her life and the only illness besides the flu she has ever had is appendictics...

My bones break easily... like dancing... touch football.. rollarblading.. falling down hills.. its disgraceful how easily they snap...

Maybe i should drink more milk...

Gangrene within my right hand (pinky, index), at the age of 10. Thankfully blood flow recovered and they were able to destroy the bacteria eating my finger flesh. I contracted the sepsis after being bitten by a funnel-web spider.

Not nearly as painful as the broken bones that you guys received, but much more intriguing.

I broke my pituatry (sp?) gland.. Jumped off a trampoline onto my ass, expecting it to be painless, and jarred my neck hardcore :p And yeah, now that part of my brain is completely fucked and i have to take medication twice a day to produce the chemical it used to make..

Apart from that, no breakages or illnesses or whatever..

Hey yea, i cliked on your google thread -thanx for that by the way - it sounds really painful... is it heaps deabilitating? do you have a lot of loss of nerve function? or is yours ok with treatment and stuff? Does one of your parents have it?

i've broken my nose, and my heart is apparently fairly fucked .. it beats reallyyyy slowly when i'm asleep/sitting around doing nothing, and once in a while it will like spit blood backwards the wrong way and it hurts like an absolute bitch.

but apart from that, i rarely get sick. i've had the flu like twice in my life, never had chicken pox, never had food poisoning, probably take panadol like once every 18 months maximum. so i can't complain.

Oh. I got shipped to hospital when I was a wee girl because both my parents smoked and my throat closed up. I just remember feeling so so so much pain.

They quit smoking. I'm not sure what it was though.

Maybe it was just a random asthma attack... *shrug*.

Most of my problems come from club rugby league.. As expected:

Anterior Crucial Ligament - I had a complete knee reconstruction for it.
Dislocated Shoulder - Stupid physio's forgot the morphine that day so that popped it back in without it.. Was in a sling for about 2 weeks.
Shin Splints - Too much running I tell ya..
Broken AC - Even a poke there would have you thriving in pain.

=)
