Im planning for my I.R.P and my question is

'How does society reinforce gender stereotypes?'

im including media, background, parents etc

i want to do a case study and was wondering if it would count if;

put a variety of magazines around a classroom (dolly, girlfriend, bikes, fishing)
asked students to select one ('tweens')
let them read it in groups with friends or however they want...
gave them a questionnaire at the end for reasons why they chose it etc....???

advice and suggestions please!

Topic may be a little broad?
You mentioned 'tweens'.... maybe you could focus on the evolution of the so-called 'tweens' as a result of gender stereotypes? Then you could also tie in the whole society reinforcing these stereotypes and thus achieving the 'tween' thing?
Maybe not so much the magazine... maybe just front covers and thus the appeal of the media to 'tweens'?
